Television Made You - Entertainment? Propaganda? Programming by industry name. How many years has the TV screen in all its various sizes, stolen from your presumably sane life? Living vicariously through game shows where women of all shapes and sizes jump up and down when the charismatic and gamesome Bob Barker, tightly holding his microphone shouts out, “Come on Down.” You can just see the chills running up and down the spines of all of those glued to their TV screens every weekday morning. Every housewives' vicarious dream is to be on stage with Bob and other contestants and ultimately land a new Frigidaire..The shut-ins of all genders after they feast on the game shows can catch up on the daily soaps. What could possibly be a more appetizing way to end a hard-working day? Sitting down with a freshly heated TV dinner perfectly ensconced on a well-positioned TV tray, just the right distance from the flickering black and white TV that in some time, in the not-too-distant future, will be in living Peaco*ck color..Those were the days of our lives in 1973. When we watch a movie or a TV series, we tend to be judgmental about the main characters and other characters. We continually offer our opinions and wonder why they don't make what seems like the obvious choice to us. We might say things like, "Why didn't they respond differently?" or "It's so clear that they should do this." We get excited and comment on the show we're watching. More often than not, our suggestions turn out to be correct. However, let's pause for a moment and consider something essential. Why do the characters in the show make these seemingly obvious mistakes? The answer is simple: because we're watching from the outside, detached from the story, and can offer our advice and opinions without being emotionally involved. Most of the time, our advice is indeed correct. This realization brings us to an important point. When we face challenges or difficult times in our own lives, it's beneficial to take a moment and look at the situation from the perspective of a TV viewer. By distancing ourselves emotionally, we can make better decisions and react more effectively 😉 #selfimprovement #makeadifference #clarity #clearvision

Disruption at its best: How “In Living Color” hijacked the Super Bowl.I love this creative brief:How do we make the Super Bowl halftime suck less and draw attention to a new kind of comedy show (and channel).Solution:Create your own halftime show on another channel.Boom! The real story is the hack (not that the NFL then created a great halftime experience, which they didn’t).The idea was the opposite of The Super Bowl. I only wish the NFL could understand what opportunities they are leaving on the field with their non-football airtime (commercials, half-time, announcers, etc.).What will be the next cultural disruption?
