Identity Manager 9.2.1 - Administration Guide for Integration with OneLogin Cloud Directory (2024)

Integration with OneLogin Cloud Directory

OneIdentityManager offers simplified user account administration for OneLogin Cloud Directory by synchronizing it with the customer's OneLogin domains. OneIdentityManager focuses on setting up and editing user accounts and providing the permissions required for accessing applications and for authentication and authorization.

To equip users with the required permissions, OneLogin roles and OneLogin applications are mapped in OneIdentityManager. This makes it possible to use Identity and Access Governance processes, including attestation, Identity Audit, user account management and system entitlements, ITShop, and report subscriptions for OneLogin domains.

OneIdentityManager provides company identities with the necessary user accounts. There are different ways for you to connect identities to their user accounts. You can also manage user accounts independently of identities and thus set up administrator user accounts.

Other OneLogin domain data is loaded into the OneIdentityManager database when data is synchronized. There are only limited options for customizing this information in OneIdentityManager due to the complex dependencies and far-reaching effects of any changes.

For more information about OneLogin, see your OneLogin documentation.

NOTE: The OneLogin Module must be installed as a prerequisite for managing OneLogin domains in OneIdentityManager. For more information about installing, see the OneIdentityManager InstallationGuide.

Architecture overview

To access a OneLogin domain's data, the OneLogin connector is installed on a synchronization server. The synchronization server ensures the comparison of data between the OneIdentityManager database and OneLogin. The OneLogin is part of the OneLogin Module. The OneLogin API controls access to OneLogin data.

NOTE: In certain circ*mstances, specific OneLogin API endpoints can only be enabled by support. For more information about the OneLogin API, see https://developers.onelogin.com/api-docs/1/getting-started/dev-overview and https://developers.onelogin.com/api-docs/2/getting-started/dev-overview.

OneIdentityManager users for managing a OneLogin domain

The following users are used for setting up and administration of OneLogin.

Table 1: Users
UserTasks
Target system administrators

Target system administrators must be assigned to the Target systems | Administrators application role.

Users with this application role:

  • Administer application roles for individual target system types.

  • Specify the target system manager.

  • Set up other application roles for target system managers if required.

  • Specify which application roles for target system managers are mutually exclusive.

  • Authorize other identities to be target system administrators.

  • Do not assume any administrative tasks within the target system.

Target system managers

Target system managers must be assigned to the Target systems | OneLogin application role or a child application role.

Users with this application role:

  • Assume administrative tasks for the target system.

  • Create, change, or delete target system objects.

  • Edit password policies for the target system.

  • Prepare roles to add to the ITShop.

  • Can add identities that do not have the Primary identity identity type.

  • Configure synchronization in the SynchronizationEditor and define the mapping for comparing target systems and OneIdentityManager.

  • Edit the synchronization's target system types and outstanding objects.

  • Authorize other identities within their area of responsibility as target system managers and create child application roles if required.

OneIdentityManager administrators

OneIdentityManager administrator and administrative system users Administrative system users are not added to application roles.

OneIdentityManager administrators:

  • Create customized permissions groups for application roles for role-based login to administration tools in the Designer as required.

  • Create system users and permissions groups for non role-based login to administration tools in the Designer as required.

  • Enable or disable additional configuration parameters in the Designer as required.

  • Create custom processes in the Designer as required.

  • Create and configure schedules as required.

  • Create and configure password policies as required.

Administrators for the ITShop

Administrators must be assigned to the Request & Fulfillment | ITShop | Administrators application role.

Users with this application role:

  • Assign system entitlements to ITShop structures.

Product owner for the ITShop

Product owners must be assigned to the Request & Fulfillment | ITShop | Product owners application role or a child application role.

Users with this application role:

  • Approve through requests.

  • Edit service items and service categories under their management.

Administrators for organizations

Administrators must be assigned to the Identity Management | Organizations | Administrators application role.

Users with this application role:

  • Assign system entitlements to departments, cost centers, and locations.

Business roles administrators

Administrators must be assigned to the Identity Management | Business roles | Administrators application role.

Users with this application role:

  • Assign system entitlements to business roles.

Configuration parameters for managing OneLogin environments

Use configuration parameters to configure the behavior of the system's basic settings. OneIdentityManager provides default settings for various configuration parameters. Check the configuration parameters and modify them as necessary to suit your requirements.

Configuration parameters are defined in the OneIdentityManager modules. Each OneIdentityManager module can also install configuration parameters. In the Designer, you can find an overview of all configuration parameters in the Base data > General > Configuration parameters category.

For more information, see Configuration parameters for managing OneLogin domains.
