It's good because its a small town, but it lacks more variety in restaurants and places for teenagers.

A small town within an hour drive of the of the metroplex. Local economy is largely dependent on the oil industry, but many residents commute to nearby larger cities for work. Population size is relatively stagnant, with some increases when oil prices raise. Many members of the community have been residents for 3 or 4 generations.

I absolutely hate this town. There's nothing to do. Nearly everything is closed by 6 pm, if not earlier. Everyone is either extremely cliquey or overly outgoing. The schools are horrendous. The only opinion to be found here is extremely conservative. Next to no diversity.

If you're looking for a small town, easy-going life, this is the place for you. There are many restaurants. The most memorable restaurant I've ever been to is here. It's called Nostalgia, and it's an old-fashioned soda fountain and sandwich shop. One of my favorite parts about living here is Trade Days, the monthly flea market. It's a small town, but not too small that big shopping isn't more than 30 minutes away. There's a Walmart in Bowie.

I love the small town feeling and how you know most everyone and if you don't but you get a job there you get to know everyone. A lot of people are related in some way or another.

Bowie is a small town, much like other small towns. It has very few decent jobs, but it’s a good place to grow up

School are poor, your children will be exposed to bullying, bad influences/people. Drugs are rampant & high crime rate resulting from theft by users....do your research - you will find lots of cliques, corruption and collusion. Some there are very bigoted and closed minded about race. Several groups have too much influence and ask about city projects/tax use. Don't live in town unless don't mind paying almost double for utility rates - electric specifically is insane.

There needs to be more for people to do in Bowie, especially for kids and teenagers. Bowie never changes and it needs to change in order to attract more tourists.

The electric rates need to change and the roads need to be fixed. Has wonderful school for the children. Home time feel when it comes to coming together for sports and people who need help.

Great people. A very friendly community. An excellent place to raise a family with a nice lake and tons of hunting and fishing places. The town is also conveniently located 1 hour from Denton, Fort Worth and Wichita Falls.

I lived outside the city limits and loved the peace and quiet coming from a large city! But in all honesty it's just like any other simi small town, there are going to be things that one person likes and others don't, but that's going to be in any town! Having the utilities drop down would be nice since all my friends to is complain about how high they are getting.

the crime is all small town stuff. like drugs and drinking so there's nothing major like homicide happening constantly to be worried about.

I live in a small town where nothing is going anywhere. no new business or jobs. a really bad economy and the people here need that but the town's kind of in a rut. I never really had a choice about living here but I'm hoping Nacogdoches is better.
